I got so engrossed (as I did the first time I read it), I couldn't put it down! I enjoy your stories. As the back cover blurb says, you "spread a feast of love, better even than the the cornbread and southern fried chicken her forbears made."Kristy Dykeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09513637012962943901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10583449.post-11987549795260404232007-03-01T05:55:00.000-08:002007-03-01T05:55:00.000-08:00There is something about Mama Ruth's writing that ...There is something about Mama Ruth's writing that keeps me in a tight grip. When I was a child, before television hit South Africa in 1976, my parents and I listened to the radio every evening between 7:15 and 7:30. That was, for us, the equivalent of soap opera. For months on end, a story would run. And every night, at 7:30 sharp, the story would end on the same note as Ruth's, hanging in the air, it's leg's swinging, a soundless, suspenseful scream filling the air... and then we had to wait until tomorrow. Yikes! Brandilyn, thanks for not doing this to us on a Friday! My heart would never make it through a whole weekend without knowing what's going on!Jannie Ernsthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07835429323219936312noreply@blogger.com
