Now--for those who are looking for a unique Christmas present, check out Terrafugia's Transition, a combination car and airplane. Keep the Transition in your garage, roll it out to take off, fly to your destination, then convert it to a car that travels at highway speeds.
The Transition is currently in a testing phase, with first deliveries scheduled for late 2009. Price--$194,000. It uses super unleaded gas--way cheaper than aviation fuel. And it only burns 4.5 gallons an hour. Imagine the looks from folks when you roll this thing into your local Exxon station.

I guess I'm just picky, but I'll wait until they come out with a VTOL version. My driveways aren't long enough for conventional take-off styles and powerlines can be such a downer. ;)
