Now--for those who are looking for a unique Christmas present, check out Terrafugia's Transition, a combination car and airplane. Keep the Transition in your garage, roll it out to take off, fly to your destination, then convert it to a car that travels at highway speeds.

It uses super unleaded gas--way cheaper than aviation fuel. And it only burns 4.5 gallons an hour. Imagine the looks from folks when you roll this thing into your local Exxon station.
Okay, ya gotta learn how to fly first. Details,

Can't afford the thing? Not a private pilot? The Transition's still for you ... as a way cool vehicle in your next novel.

I want one!! How cool!
ReplyDeleteThere are Ferraris that cost more than that and don't get as good gas mileage. Such a deal!
ReplyDeleteA good novelist must always keep their eyes out for a good plot twist!
ReplyDeleteNow that's about the coolest thing I've seen in a while! Where do you find these things, Brandilyn?
ReplyDeleteMark and I went to a convention of the AOPA last Friday--Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. This company was there.
ReplyDeleteCool drivable plane! Now we'll know what we're seeing if we spot one on the freeway!
ReplyDeleteThat was quite a surprise to read my name on your front page, its always strange to win something. Wow!
I guess I'm just picky, but I'll wait until they come out with a VTOL version. My driveways aren't long enough for conventional take-off styles and powerlines can be such a downer. ;)
ReplyDeleteI come home from a vacation weekend to see this. I better not show it to my husband or we'll have on in our driveway before you can say Bob's your uncle. HA!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Maybe we can afford one when we are rich and famous.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to regret this, but I must show this to my two pilots-in-residence, husband and son. Esp. going to regret showing it to the son. :-0
ReplyDeleteI like flying in our plane. :-). Currently, though, it's a wounded bird and in for major repair. :-(
