Pic of the Litter


A Because-It's-Friday post.

Yesterday my daughter, Amberly, sent me these photos of "Bear," her new Yorkshire terrier puppy. Bear is now almost up to a whopping three pounds. He is a good little puppy in the apartment and the absolute heart-throb of Amberly's entire sorority.

    I have a little Sheltie. Ok, he's 45 pounds (I know, big for a Sheltie) but he likes to sleep on his back. I caught him on our patio the other day:

    I'll share a story about Bear, my Bear.

    Long ago in a red MG convertible, a mom gave birth. One of her little ones was called Bear.

    He was orange, fluffy, all a kitty should be -- and more.
    When Bear came to our home, we renamed him Sneakers. (Our family is used to this. . .all three kids were renamed. Another story for another time.)

    Bear-Sneakers didn't resemble a bear but his "foster uncle" did, a grizzley of a man, over 6 feet, a fuzzy beard, big paws, you got the picture.
