Coeur d'Alene at Thanksgiving

On this day before Thanksgiving, I am practically brain dead, finishing Crimson Eve (third in the Kanner Lake series). We are in our Coeur d'Alene home for the holidays. My wonderful husband has been doing all the food shopping, all the errands and running around while I've been writing. One thing I'm thankful for is an incredible husband!

It looks like fall here, not yet winter. Sometimes we have snow by Thanksgiving, but not this year. The temperature has been very mild--getting up to about 48 degrees.

And so I leave you with some pictures of fall, taken on our property. Trees on various sides of the house, those that have lost leaves and those who boast them all year 'round. Spindly branches waiting to collect snow. And the view from our backyard at sunset. (See why I named the first Kanner Lake book Violet Dawn?)

At Thanksgiving, I am grateful for many, many things. One of the wonderful things in my life are all you BGs. You are my fellow writers, my readers, my partners in crime, my friends. On this Thanksgiving I wish you and your families health and hope and happiness. Most of all I wish you the personal faith and knowledge that whatever happens on this earth--Jesus remains Lord.

And that is truly something to be thankful for.

BGs, I will be back next Monday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, that sunset picture is gorgeous! Yet another reason to be jealous of Brandilyn Collins. Not sure I needed any more. I mean...happy for you. Yes. Happy.

Okay, I truly am glad that God has blessed your life so richly. Happy Thanksgiving.

Praying that God will refresh your mind as you run to the finish line with this book and that He will refill your cup. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

So what was that you were mentioning, Brandilyn, about inviting all your loyal BGs over to your house for Thanksgiving?

Yeah, well, I think you all should come. The good news is--as I told you, my husband did all the shopping for food. The bad news is--my husband did all the shopping for food. He came home with this sheepish look on his face--"Maybe I overdid it a little." Would you like to hear the meat he bought for ONE dinner? A turkey, a prime rib roast, a spiral ham, and huge prawns.

Oh, my! Who is going to cook all that? Much less eat it?

Yes, come one, come all! Help us eat our food! Then we'll sit around afterwards with popping bellies and plot books and play Scrabble. Or walk off the calories in a trek through the woods.

Beautiful pictures. I can almost smell the pine trees.

Thank you. And Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Have a great Thanksgiving weekend! Idaho looks wonderful... be right there!! =D
My husband is finished doing our shopping too. Now he's baking and cooking. Soon I'll have lots of delicious reasons to get back on the old diet again.

I don't know how oyu leave Coeur d'Alene to go back to your other home. I think I'd live there year round. What inspiring scenery!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving, Brandilyn.

I'd love to join your family, but my new one month old granddaughter and 4yo grandson might object! Have a blessed time.

Brandilyn,
Sounds like your husband started out bringing home five loaves and two fishes, and they just multiplied. "They followed me home, can I keep them?"
Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful, your indigestion minimal, and your relaxation total.
Now back to lurking in the shadows.

Oooohh, but I love sky pictures. How glorious--God skywriting the beauty of His character. Thanks for posting them.

And did everyone else already know that if you click on the picture it fills the screen? I found it accidentally (I'm the techno-challenged BG, remember?) WOW!

Just gorgeous! Love the view. What a wonderful place to live.

So how was all that food? Did you eat it all yet? Will you be rolling back to CA instead of flying. LOL!

Hope you had an awesome day! You're a blessing to so many, Brandilyn, me included. I feel so blessed to know you and to have your writing and prayer support. God bless you!

dear brandilyn, I am visiting with an old friend from HS and college days in Lake Charles, LA and we went to the bookstore yesterday and she purchased Violet Dawn. Then we got to see this lovely picture of your violet dawn in Coeur d'Alene and my friend Sandi said she had visited in that area and agreed that it is beautiful! They drove their motorhome around the winding roads. She loves suspense and is starting your book today, so will be checking back here and on the kanner lake blogsite. love, rose
